As a Marketing Associate, Michael Lopes is responsible for conducting ongoing sports industry research, identifying and updating information based on industry trends. He is relied on to complete tasks involving client maintenance, social media, assistance with special events, and event marketing. Michael is tasked with assisting in the creation of proposals in response to client inquiries, and in the management of current projects. He also participates in the completion of market studies for new sports facilities, updates website content and creates new marketing collateral for clients.
Prior to his internship at Positive Impact S+E, he served as a Marketing Intern for SUNY Cortland Athletics, where he promoted upcoming athletic events with the creation of graphics and assisted in running their social media accounts, ultimately gaining over 700 followers on Instagram during his time as an intern. He also worked for the Lakewood BlueClaws as a Ticket Sales Associate, where he assisted customers with ticket purchases and exchanges at the box office.
Lopes is currently a senior majoring in Sport Management with a Concentration in Sales and Marketing at SUNY Cortland, graduating this May. He was an Executive Board Member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, and served as President of the Sport Management Club on campus. He was named Campus Champion in November of 2017 for his winning Cortaca Jug t-shirt design, and was awarded Sport Management Student of the Week earlier this year. He is also a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society.
